AI and the future of creativity: a stage performance with music and philosophy

On October 14 I was back on a stage with my friend and partner-in-crime Simone Zoja, after many years and in our hometown Torino.

Simone made his magic by mixing Morricone, Bach, Albéniz, Zimmer at his digital piano and synth, and he shared some insights about musical creativity, technology and his attitude towards AI. We created two theatrical moments, at the beginning and end of the evening, where the words of two monologues I wrote for the occasion were intertwined with Simone’s live music. In between, there was an interactive public lecture on AI, ethics and creativity by me, interspersed with another live music interlude, this time intertwined with an original video edited for the occasion by Isabella Martinelli. It was all very emotional for me – many important parts of my life: music, philosophy, performance converging on that stage in my hometown and at the presence of many old friends and acquaintances. And I believe it was an enjoyable for the circa one hundred people at Camera too. Big thanks to Mariaclara Monetti for organizing and Indosuez for sponsoring. This may be the beginning of something.
